Monique Lhuillier Fall/Winter 2014/15

Monique Lhuillier has slowly been growing her ready-to-wear business, and for fall she really hit her stride. This collection was bold and romantic, some of it with a dark edge.

For day, Lhuillier played with structure in a feminine way: A vinyl trenchcoat in a pink tweed, a guipure lace blouse-and-pencil-skirt combo and a sleeveless long vest over gaucho pants were all polished and chic. The moodier moments came via skeletal prints and embroideries and somber colors (black, gray, navy) that Lhuillier balanced with a delicate touch. Discover this amazing runway shot by Jamie Beck (Anne Street Studio) for Monique Lhuillier.  Love, Andrea

For evening, she showed her true potential with beautifully crafted gowns and cocktail dresses. Her LBDs came in an assortment of intricate beadwork and embellishments, while a dramatic high-low gown was done in a pretty petal print.

'Aptly titled “Bohemian Wrapsody", this collection commemorates the 40th anniversary of DVF’s iconic wrap dress. Guests were treated to a live performance by St. Vincent. If forty is the new thirty, then it’s set to be a pivotal year for the wrap dress. Diane von Furstenberg kicked off the anniversary of her iconic design earlier this year with an exhibit 'Journey Of  A Dress' in Los Angeles charting the journey of the dress through the past four decades.'
